2011 Celebrity Open Raises $39,000 for Elderly Services« Top

The 2011 Eldercare Celebrity Open, held in honor of distinguished attorney and community volunteer M. Catherine Richardson, Esq., was a huge success, raising $39,000 in support of the Eldercare Foundation’s mission of enabling our community’s elders to live at home with dignity and independence. This year’s event welcomed 160 supporters of the organization as both golfers and dinner guests.

The day began with a Celebrity Exhibition featuring Women’s National Long Drive Champion Sally Dee, national golf entertainer Brad Denton and former Syracuse University Basketball player Matt Roe. The celebrities won the crowd over with an impressive display of golf skill and power. Sally Dee and Brad Denton were also featured on the course, where participants were invited to substitute their shots with one of Ms. Dee’s legendary long-drives and test their skills in Mr. Denton’s “Beat the Pro” contest.

The festivities concluded with a formal dinner honoring M. Catherine Richardson. Following remarks from Anne Messenger, Ms. Richardson’s long-time friend, Eldercare Foundation President Sandra Martin presented Ms. Richardson with a beautifully engraved crystal bowl in honor of her many years of dedicated service to the Central New York Community.
